Statement
I have recently been working on a new installation idea, that I am calling a NEVERMADE, started in collaboration with the Belgrade Arts Centre, Serbia, called Standby. This was imagined In response to ideas about Lockdown and Cancel culture. Essentially the idea for this, is to create an exhibition space that looks like it has been vacated with empty boxes that have been locked, and signs asking people not to touch...and one of two entrances heavily locked. This work would be made mainly in my absence (As I am based in China) by some of your staff or volunteers, It would be done by co-ordinating with me online, to orgainse the delivery (to your exhibition space) of crates that would have locks attached, finding artworks/objects to wrap and cover in warning tape, finding traffic cones etc.... It would be based on the video I have made and an artist score. I think this is an interesting experiment and perhaps a controversial work, that just might tickle your imagination.
